Postdoctoral Fellows
Leobardo Rodriguez Segura

Leobardo Rodriguez Segura received his B.S. in Chemistry from Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD. In 2024, he received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Purdue University under the supervision of Prof. Tong Ren. His postdoctoral research with Prof. Karen Goldberg and Prof. Dohyung Kim at Penn is focused on the electrochemically-driven oxidation of alkanes.
Veroneau Samuel

Samuel Veroneau grew up in Virginia and received his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Chicago. At Chicago, Sam researched the application of metal-organic frameworks to renewable energy in the group of Prof. Wenbin Lin. He returned to the East Coast and received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Harvard University in 2024 under the guidance of Prof. Daniel Nocera. His graduate studies focused on the electrochemistry of water splitting catalyst for green hydrogen production. His postdoctoral research will explore reactive nitrogen-based compounds as alternative fuels under the supervision of Profs. Tom Mallouk and Daniel Mindiola. Outside of chemistry, Sam enjoys making soup stocks, doing puzzles, and camping.
Kunyu Wang

Kunyu Wang received his B.S. in Chemistry at Nankai University in 2018 and his Ph.D. in Chemistry at Texas A&M University in 2023 under the supervision of Prof. Hong-Cai Zhou. His postdoctoral work with Prof. Christopher Murray and Prof. Shu Yang focuses on developing hierarchically porous materials for carbon capture and water harvesting.
Randall Wilharm

Randall Wilharm received his B.S. in Chemistry from Michigan Technological University, where he worked with Prof. Bruce Lee and Prof. Rudy Luck. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2023 from the University of Minnesota with Prof. Valérie Pierre. His postdoctoral research at Penn with Prof. Eric Schelter and Prof. Dirk Trauner is focused on targeted rare earth element separation using photoswitch-appended extractants.
